Odegaard's Comeback Hopes Rise Ahead of Liverpool Clash

According to Norway coach Stale Solbakken, Martin Odegaard, the captain of Arsenal, is getting close to recovering from an ankle ligament injury.

Since suffering what was deemed to be serious injuries while playing for his nation in September, the midfield player has been sidelined.

Solbakken told the Norwegian daily Verdens Gang, "Everything shows that (the injury) is going according to plan; then it is about the last steps when you are going to train with opponents and at team training." "We have a legitimate hope that he is prepared, but it depends on how he reacts to it."

Odegaard's availability for Sunday's match between Arsenal and Premier League leader Liverpool was not disclosed by manager Mikel Arteta.

Arteta stated during a press conference on Friday that Jurrien Timber, Riccardo Calafiori, and Bukayo Saka were all doubts for Liverpool.

He stated, "We're going to try our hardest to have them available in some way, but it's very uncertain."

Calafiori injured his knee during this week's Champions League play against Shakhtar Donetsk, while Saka has a hamstring problem.

Due to an unidentified ailment, Timber hasn't played since the beginning of the month.

William Saliba, a center back, will not play for Liverpool since he was sent off for a red card during Saturday's loss to Bournemouth.
